I’m happy to say we have been going strong for over 2.5 years now and it’s been a great experience. We have learnt a lot about our customers in that time and continue to improve on various services and products we carry. We have always asked for customer feedback and continue to make sure you have what you need.

Any current customers reading this and wish there was a option they do not see WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! We have many services that we give to our clients which we pay either monthly or annually for so we want to make sure they are being utilized and easy to use.

In the last few days RIM (Research In Motion) the developers of Blackberry devices have been having huge issues. It has been reported that millions of people have been unable to receive emails, access the internet, access BB. I usually would not put an announcement out like this because it usually does not affect us but we have been receiving support tickets regarding this.

If you get your emails via your blackberry and the last few days you have not been then it’s likely a problem with your blackberry device and not that of your web hosting here with Hostbeaver.

Blackberry is working on fixing the issue and slowly they are coming to a resolution.

Some very interesting news coming from the CIRA today in a statement made by them saying they are planning the addition of accented characters to .CA domain names.

What does this mean for you?

Well many french speaking websites often use accented characters such as;

• é, ë, ê, è
• à, â
• ô
• ù, û, ü
• ç
• î, ï

This is a huge benefit for french websites as well any businesses that use both a french and english and french domain name. This means you could soon see domain names like préside.ca, grâce.ca, etc. There is currently no anticipated date to this transition.
